How To Take Care of Curly Baby Hair
Does your baby have curly hair and you don’t know how to take care of it? I leave you my advice and products to take care of their little hair 🙂
Washing and caring for curly baby hair
For my daughter I only have one word in mind: SIMPLICITY. I chose the large format Catier shampoo because it lathers well and works for the body and hair. It smells of the good taste of apple and does its job very well and highlights her curls! Cattier is an organic and clean brand.
As for the detangler, I opted for the Minois Paris detangler (recommended for ages 3 and up) which hydrates her hair very well and her beautiful curls bounce back well afterwards. It can also be a deep hydrating treatment if you decide to leave it on a little longer. Made with orange blossom water its leaves her hair perfumed. It is composed also of aloe-vera and wheat protein which makes her hair shiny.
When she has real knots, this good detangler is not enough and I then use my conditioner which is formidable: Santé. It is also moisturizing because it is composed of organic mango and aleo-verra; Just like Minois Paris, it is also a treatment once applied for a longer period of time. Please note, this conditioner contains essential oils (check before use it).
Styling Curly Baby Hair
To “stylize” curls, there’s nothing better than aloe vera to redefine curls in the morning. I take it from Aromazone and refrigerate it to keep it longer.
For his first cut I opted for a renowned hairdresser in Lyon for curly hair but especially for the little ones: le coiffeur des petits Lyonnais. Nestled in the heart of old Lyon, this hairdresser has everything to amaze little ones, games, caring hairdressers and even seats that look like carousel horses!
Subsequently I decided to cut them myself for financial gain. I did, however, invest in some good hairdressing scissors. I cut her curly hair dump while leaving plenty of length because when it dries it is much shorter once curly.
Accessories for curly baby hairstyles
Barrettes and scrunchies
In all honesty, given how quickly my daughter loses her scrunchies and how easy it is to lend them to her dolls, I bought a pack of cheap fabric scrunchies on Amazon. It is better to take them entirely in fabric to avoid damaging the hair or leaving “a mark” on the hair.
Suitable brush
Curly hair often has knots in their hair. Nothing is more painful than brushing your little one and hearing them cry because it’s painful or seeing that brushing is useless! I managed to find the perfect brush for my daughter by chance, which is partly made of nylon bristles and also made of boar bristles, it allows you to detangle hair effectively without pain.
The brush is from the Olivia Garden brand, the model I took is this one.
Pillowcase
If you want to go further you can invest in a silk pillowcase which will preserve your child’s hair fiber during the night. In fact, classic pillowcases tend to absorb hair products and tend to dehydrate the hair. Curly hair is particularly prone to dehydration, which is why it is all the more important to take care of it.
Finally, hair is in good health if your child/baby is also healthy and this involves a time of sleep adapted to their age as well as a healthy and balanced diet.
