How to Remove Hairs Perfectly for Beautiful and Smooth Skin?
After years and years of struggling to find a hair removal method, I did find the perfect COMBO ๐
This combo is by far the best suited to my budget, time and and is the less painful one!
I do love my beautician but to be honnest it can be quite a budget… Let’s discover my go-to routine for the best results!
Prepare your body before
Before waxing, prepare your skin with a good scrub the day before.
THE best option is Black soap and a kessah glove, it is the perfect duo. I couldn’t recommend a better method!
Half Tunisian (if you’re curious About Me – Getaway Soul), this is one of the secret of the perfectly smooth skin of the Arabic women.
You go to a hammam (or simply a hot, humid bath at home) you put on your body black soap. Then you massage all over and leave for 10 minutes and rinse it. Now you can scrub with a horsehair/kessah glove and you will get rid of all your dead skin and impurities.
You can also check my DIY coffee scrub for a haled and smooth skin when I will publish my article.
Finally, you still have the option to use a body brush. This option is possible but must be used daily to achieve good results.
Sugar hair removal
I can’t stress enough that waxing is the best option in the long term. More time passes, more you will be experienced in waxing and you will not take that much time after some practice. Also after a while, your hairs will get shorter and finer and it will be less painful to remove them.
For the simplest, most environmentally-friendly version, opt for reusable strips and a sugar wax. You can simply rinse it off with water. No more worries if you drop some on the floor, just wipe it off with a damp glove.
I always choose the same one: Nair depilatory wax. If you wanna go on the most economical and ecological version with no strips required, you can chek my DIY wax when I will publish it.
Finish with tweezers: it’s our best ally for a complete and impeccable skin ๐
Tip: if hot waxing makes you sweat, or if it’s summer, remember to use clay to absorb the moisture caused by perspiration, allowing the wax to adhere better to your hairs, making your waxing more effective!
0-waste shaver
When I’m in a hurry (yes, a little wink to moms who don’t have much time to take care of themselves ๐ ) I go through the shaving process. I’ve rediscovered shaving thanks to reusable razors, which are less prone to pimples and very effective, but above all more ecological and economical because they keep for the long term!
Be careful as they are not as the typical shaver and are quite sharp so handle it very gently and do not apply much pressure when you shave.
Dyeing hairs
As for my facial and arm hairs, I dye it once a month with a blonding cream. I’m not sure if this is the most environmentally-friendly or healthiest option, but it allows me to hide my unpleasant moustache and avoid waxing my arms.
Personally, it’s given me peace of mind about my arm hairs, and I only do it once a month, and not at all in summer, as the sun acts on its own.
After: nourish your body
You should moisturize your skin after with aloe vera gel for its freshness and skin-soothing properties.
You can complete afterwards with good nutrition with a body butter or rich cream (see my DIY cream article coming soon).
What I don’t use any more:
- Depilatory creams: practical and painless, you’d think they’d be a good solution. Unfortunately, these creams are full of toxic products that are bad for your health.
- An electric epilator: in my case, was not a solution. Not only did I find it more painful than waxing, but the epilator tended to give me lots of ingrown pimples.
- Cold wax strips are painful, impractical and less environmentally friendly, so I prefer the hot option ๐
Finally, I’d like to remind you that you can completely accept your hairs, which is ultimately natural, and not have to go through the shaving or waxing process if it suits you. Every woman has the freedom to choose what’s best for her and not be dictated by beauty standards.
