AMAZING THINGS to do for a 3-day trip in Antalya
In vacation in Antalya for three days and no idea how to plan it ? Let’s check my itinerary for a 3 days trip in this wonderful city!
If you see this after your page is loaded completely, leafletJS files are missing.
1st Day in Antalya
On the first day, you can visit the old town. Start with the Hadrian gate walk on the old town and continue on its charming streets. After a walk in the ancient city, you can continue to Konaleji Beach. The rocky beach is easily accessible by taxis, buses, or even walk for the courageous souls. There you can find a spot to eat and drink and sunbed (for 75yras per person).
After a refreshing time on the sea, you can come back to the city. Boboli Garden is a lovely spot to rest and enjoy the typical dessert katmer with a narguilé. Check my post on the best food to try in Turkey!
If you still have some energy have a walk by the Marina in the evening and enjoy the sunset there.
2nd day in Antalya
On the second day, you can plan a day trip to go snorkeling or diving. Many companies offer you the full package: pick-up from your hotel (around 8-8.30 am), meal on the boat, and boat transportation to a spot where you can either do some snorkeling or diving.
They usually go to Kemer a small city which is the point of departure of the boat. You can enjoy 2-4 dives of 15 min each and food on the boat. The total fare per person is 55_50€ (you can get a chipper fare if you are a good negotiator). You can pay 20€ extra to have a picture underwater which can be a great memory.
After they will leave you either at your hostel or in the town.
After a powerful nap, you can enjoy Antalya at night. Adrian Cafe Bar is a great spot to enjoy local singers with a glass of whatever you fancy. They served the drinks with popcorn (salted!)
3rd Day in Antalya
On your last day in Antalya, you can visit the Duden Waterfall. Many traveling companies also offer a package with a pickup and a guide. With amazing views from the top, it is two waterfalls which can be visited. You can have a fresh bath or have a boat tour to observe the waterfall from a different point of view.
Take the téléphérique Tunektepe Teleferik to have another amazing view of the city and the surroundings sea and moutains !
If you still have energy and spare time, you can visit the Antalya museum and have a walk on the Karaalioglu Parc. Going there at the end of the day is better as it will be cooler.
That’s the end of your short and intense trip to Antalya ! Let’s check my recommendation of gifts to buy 🙂
What should you buy without taking too much space on your carry-on?
- Hazelnut coffee: a coffee with grilled hazelnut for a nutty flavour on your coffee 🙂
- Turkish tea: For the tea lovers over there, you can find every kind of “tea” from the back tea to the green with many flavors. But you can also find in Turkey “tea” which is basically fruits that are dried and crushed. My personal favorite is pomegranate a sweet flavor which will surprise your guest with its vivid rose color.
- Turkish delicatessen: most known as lukum is the absolute best! You have so many tastes to try that it can be tricky to choose 😉 Also, it has a 3-month conservation, which is nice for a gift.
- Incent: is a small gift but also typical. You can have different scents to transport you again to this warm country.
- Scarfs or bags: I have an obsession with scarfs; I find them so colorful and I love the different types of patterns that you can find. It is also the same for the bags.
- For a bigger budget and luggage capacity a handmade carpet. The quality is so much better than you can find in the typical house decoration shop. Find unique colors and patterns to have one of a kind carpet that will be unique. If you have a smaller space on your luggage you can go with a handmade pillowcase 🙂
My recommendation for a good place to buy gift in Antalya: Buldan’s Nice shop.
Turkey in a Nutshell
Cost of life: The local currency is the Turkish Lyra; 1€= 28.6 lyras; 1$= 26 lyras and 1£=33.46 (as of 09.07.2023 bear in mind that the exchange rate is constantly fluctuating; One basic meal = 4-7€ A bed on a hostel = 20-40€
Traveling: You can use Uber almost everywhere or there as taxis available (you can negotiate the price for the taxis, not the Uber)
Visa: You do not need a visa if you plan to go for less than 90 days (French citizens) You should check on your local government website to see for your specific country
Health: esthetisim tourism is flourishing in Turkey (from hair implants for men to lips and breast implants for women) but be aware that some are dangerous and can lead to disease or worse. The government of Turkey to avoid those sad consequences had a list of certified places where you can have a medical or esthetic surgery: https://www.healthturkiye.com/
Security: The border next to Syria and Iraq is a red zone and can be very dangerous, please avoid the area. There has been some deadly accident have been reported where the hot air balloon was not safely adequate.
