Kasol is a hidden gem to camp and to trek in a beautiful lush landscape in North India.

Nestled in the lap of the Himalayas, Kasol is a perfect spot for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike. Tucked away in the Parvati Valley of Himachal Pradesh it is a serene destination. It offers a perfect blend of tranquility, breathtaking landscapes, and thrilling trekking opportunities. Kasol, is often dubbed as the hippie destination. It welcomes travelers who are mainly locals with its laid-back vibe, vibrant culture, and prestine landscape. I was so suprised when I saw how many people where smooking there. Yeah… I say hippie so I am not talking about cigarettes. As all hippie vacation destination you can find a lot of vegan option on the restaurant.

While some people may or may not like the hippie vibes, everyone will agree with the awesome landscape. Surrounded by towering pine forests, and snow-capped peaks, it’s a heaven for those seeking solace in the arms of nature. The gurgling Parvati River adds to the enchantment, offering a soothing melody as you explore the region.

Chalal Trek

While Kasol itself is a paradise, the Chalal Trek takes the adventure a notch higher. Beginning from Kasol, this relatively easy trek winds through picturesque trails. It offers glimpses of cascading waterfalls, terraced fields, and quaint villages.

One of the highlights of trekking in Kasol is the opportunity to interact with the local inhabitants. The villages along the Chalal Trek route offer a glimpse into the traditional way of life in the mountains. You can find locals with donkeys carrying goods to the homes.

When I was doing the trekk, it was quite cold and there was many spot where there were firepits on, and we stopped to a lot of them talk to the others travelers. I kept a wonderful memory of this day with nice talks along the way and some chai to keep me warm.

While the Chalal Trek is relatively easy, the uneven terrain and steep ascents can be challenging. When you finally reach the summit, the sense of accomplishment and the panoramic views stretching make it worth it. The legend of Manikaran Sahib

Legend has it that Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati once resided in Manikaran, blessing the region with their divine presence. It’s said that when Lord Shiva’s consort lost her earring (‘Mani’), he commanded the serpent god, Sheshnag, to retrieve it from the depths of the earth. As the earth trembled with the serpent’s efforts, hot springs gushed forth, creating the natural marvels that define Manikaran Sahib today.

At the heart of Manikaran Sahib lies the revered Gurudwara Manikaran Sahib, a place of worship and pilgrimage for Sikhs. Surrounded by towering peaks and lush greenery, the gurudwara exudes an aura of peace and serenity. The hot bath of Manikaran Sahib

In the hot bath, you have a women and a men side; You have to know that man or women bath together and there are shower too. The hot waters calms your body which might be tensed with the trekk and the camp.
